Eco School group Green Flag Project

Saint Joseph’s College Ravenhill Road Belfast Eco Club planted over 80 native trees in the school grounds on Thursday the 9th of March as part of the Woodland Trusts First World War Centenary Woods project. A copse of Hazel, Rowan, Silver birch, and Willow was planted by Eco club members Delvia, Donel and Donald Dominic and Aneeshia Mathew under the expert guidance of Science teacher Mr P Cooley and Mr Chris Woods the Senior Project Manager of the Conservation Volunteers. This work is part of their Eco schools green flag project which encourages active citizenship . The aim of the project is to move from environmental awareness in the curriculum to environmental action in the school and wider community.
