Important News for the New Year 2016/2017

Attention All parents/guardians

St Joseph’s College have become involved with the Eco-Schools programme and we aim to make environmental awareness and action an intrinsic part of the life and ethos of our school. The programme’s participatory approach and combination of learning and action makes it an ideal way for schools like ours to begin improving the environment of our school and of our local communities. We are working towards achieving the prestigious Green Flag award which symbolises excellence in the field of environmental activity.

We need your help as we are currently setting up our Eco-Committee which will be a representative group of pupils and parents to discuss environmental action for the school. Meetings will take place at least once per term (maximum 6 times per year). We are currently looking for a parent (s) to become engaged with the programme and to join the committee which will have its first meeting during the first week in September 2016. Our target is to achieve the Green Flag by June 2017!! Please come on board with us.

If you are interested in becoming involved in our Green Flag project please contact Dr D Rooney Project Co-ordinator at the school in the new term .

Thank you for your continued support.
