Latest correspondence from the Principal re Covid-19 Information.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak Update

This letter is to reassure parents that everything within our power and resources is being done to minimise the risk to your children. We are following the advice issued by the Department of Education (DE) and the Public Health Agency (PHA).

Our duty is to keep everyone in our school community safe and calm. We await advice/directives before more stringent measures may be put in place. In the meantime, we are maintaining vigilance and ensuring our students are not distressed by the wider concerns reported in the media. However, we ask you to make an informed decision as to whether or not you choose to send your child to school. Your child’s attendance record will not be affected by this decision.

You should not send your child to school if they become unwell with cough, fever or shortness of breath

 (PHA Guidance)

Enclosed you will find details of the measures the college has currently undertaken. This information will be shared with our students during dedicated form tutor time on Wednesday, 18th March.

To ensure effective communication please ensure you have provided the staff in the General Office with the most up-to-date email and telephone numbers for your household. If the college has to make contact with families, we will use the School App and Twitter, @stjosephs1992 as primary methods. If you need any support with the school app please contact the General Office.

On behalf of the staff and I, we would like to thank you so much for your support at this very difficult time, we greatly appreciate it.

Yours sincerely

Michele McCormick
